Congratulations to our undergraduate student Pablo Torres Campos for presenting his poster "Nest-site characteristics, diet, and activity patterns of the Peters's squirrel" at the XXVII International Course Biological Bases of Behavior in Morelia, Michoacán.
The poster presented the results of the study conducted for the Verano de la Ciencia Región Centro 2022, with the participation of the undergraduate students: Pablo Torres, Ximena Zamora and Diego Aznar, and supervised by Dr. Nicolás Ramos-Lara. Congratulations to Dr. Glenda Chavez for her recent presentation at the International Congress of Innovation and Sustainability, ICONIS 2022.
Title of her presentation: Reverse Logistics: A view from the Circular Economy and the Business Environment. Venue: The Royal Academy of Economics and Finance. Barcelona, Spain. Congratulations to our undergraduate student, Daniel Castañeda Ruan (Biological Sciences Junior), for presenting his research project at the XXII Congreso Mexicano de Botánica this week. His poster was titled: "Creación de un catálogo preliminar de especies de plantas de Arkansas State University en Querétaro, México, con la ayuda de la plataforma Naturalista." Daniel has been working intensively on this project with the support and supervision of Dr. Javier Miguelena.
Congratulations to our alumni Ximena Vargas, Wendy Mandujano, Isaac Augusto Reyes, and Luisa Fernanda González who participated in the "SOMIXXXV y 1er Simposio Nacional de Biosensores" with the project: Biosíntesis de nanopartículas de plata (AgNPs) y su uso potencial como alternativa a métodos convencionales de síntesis. The project was supervised by MSc. Bárbara González and Dr. Fermando Belmont.
Congratulations to our recently graduated alumni Ximena Vargas-Estrada, Sofía Alfaro-Cortés, and Sebastián Carrillo-Aguilar. Their project, lead by Dr. Bernardo Pérez, has been accepted to be presented at the 13th Annual Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium held at Rice University. This event is open to undergraduate students from all around the World.
In particular, Ximena Vargas will give the talk: "Ribosome dissociation observed during Minigene expression in E. coli might be related to translation speed and ribosome stalling during general gene translation", in the BioSciencesBCB section of the symposium. Congratulations to Dr. Abril Suárez, who has been selected to have a capsule in the “Women in Space” event in the context of the celebration of the World Space Week.
Congratulations to our students Ximena Vargas, Fernanda González, Wendy Mandujano, and Isaac Sánchez. Their work: “Biosynthesis of Silver Nanoparticles (AgNPs) and their potential use as an alternative to conventional synthesis methods” has been accepted for presentation at the SOMI XXXV Instrumentation Conference (SOMI XXXV Congreso de Instrumentación).
