Our goal is to create a precise mechanism for detecting colorectal cancer (CRC). We propose the use of a genetically modified probiotic that will express pigments. In the colon, it will detect CRC by antigen overexpression, leading to the activation of a genetic kill switch, causing bacterial cell death and releasing the pigments into the colon. Feces containing these pigments can be analyzed, resulting in a more precise CRC detection method.
